Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

In January Anne and I decided to try a different RV experience.  We joined a 17 Rig Caravan and toured Colonial Mexico (Sierra Madre mountains and West Coast), for 82 days.  Highlights on the tour included a scenic train ride to Copper Canyon with a 2 KM zipline ride, also a visit to a Monarch Butterfly sanctuary.  To get to the sanctuary we travelled by bus, horseback and hike.  The elevation was 10,000' above sea level! All with our great RV friends.

In April we headed back home to Kelowna to settle into our BC life.  Our house was still standing thanks to our wonderful neighbours.

We flew to Yellowknife the last week in April to celebrate Lisa's convocation graduating with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.  We are proud parents.

The spring weather was exceptional with warm sunny days and then June-uary hit with cool temperatures and rain.  In July we hit the road again and drove to Spearfish, South Dakota with a 3 day visit to Yellowstone National Park and Ol' Faithful Geyser.  Even with the multitude of tourists it was a spectacular experience with great scenery.  After the Cessna Skywagon Convention in Spearfish we headed to Rosthern SK to join the Roy Buckmaster Family Reunion over the August long weekend.  Our grandsons Hendrix (8) and Owen (6) joined us and travelled home to Kelowna with us.  We enjoyed a 2 week "reconnection" time and then it was time to head to Yellowknife where we joined Ben, Lisa and our granddaughter Avery (4) at the local RV Park.  We were able to help them move into their new Yellowknife home September 1.  After 4 years of apartment living they were overjoyed to be in a house once again.

After everyone was settled in, it was time to "hit the trail" back to Kelowna with a stop in Hay River and then a visit with our son Bill in Edmonton.

In November we spent a week in the Vancouver area to visit relatives and friends.  Otherwise we have stayed close to Kelowna. Our airplane is being repainted in Penticton, and the fall travel budget is exhausted!

We are looking forward to flying to Yellowknife to celebrate Christmas with Bill (driving from Edmonton) and Lisa's family.

Merry Christmas and a Happy & Healthy 2017!!
